Sir- our California Air Heritage Foundation, here in Los Angeles, is restoring a Douglas built B-17G. It is, to the best of our knowledge, the last surviving B-17 of thirteen used in the filming of the now classic 1949 film “12 O’Clock High”. It was also used in the filming of the TV series of the same name during the 1960’s.

We are badly in need of parts for the aircraft and wondered if you would put a note in your website about this and also forward this message to UK member Paul Bellamy. Many of the parts he is uncovering in England would be of great use to us.

Thanks,

Bruce Orriss

Director

Sgt. Donald C. Byers, 613th Bomb Squadron, Togglier, 42-97344 Carrie B II, KIA 08/24/1944.

Aha!
B-17G-80-DL 44-83387 aka "The Greeley B-17".

Bruce, I'll get in touch with the guys storing what remains of the recovered parts and see what we can do.

All the best,
Paul
