Another snippet from the Divisional Archives pertaining to service life at Deenethorpe:

Divisional Provost Marshal Section weekly report, week ending 24 April 1944

This week, Captain Buddin, Office of the Provost Marshal, and Captain Reichman, Office of the Divisional Engineers, made a visit to Deenethorpe to survey the road through that camp, due to the number of accidents that have occurred on this road. Although the station has been declared "a built up area", the speed limit for civilian cars passing through is thirty miles per hour, whereas U.S. Army cars are limited to 15 miles per hour. As a corrective measure for the above situation, Military Police, on duty at the road guard gates, in the future, will request civilian traffic to slow down to the Army Vehicle limit when passing through the base, and a sidewalk for the pedestrians is being planned by the Engineers.
