9/21/2009 12:46:33 PM | I'm just getting acquainted with the 401st, and am especially interested in Ice Cold Katy, which was one of the planes my brother flew on. I've seen several messages about people researching the plane's history for planned books. Have any of them come out yet?

9/27/2009 3:10:11 PM | Thanks for the response, Don. I foolishly didn't take notes, but what I saw were not references to books but references to gathering information with plans to write books. Since those messages were several years old I thought at least one book might have come out by now, but didn't find any on the usual book sites.
Yes, I've seen that ad; it's one of the things that led me astray when I was just starting my search for information about Ice Cold Katy -- I foolishly assumed the picture was the real nose art so I kept looking for it in photos of planes. If only! I've come across quite a few photos of 42-107039 Katy now, as well as a couple of the other Ice Cold Katys -- and none have nose art as lovely as that ad. 🙂
