Nick Centorani 11/4/2007 9:54:32 PM | We will be honoring Joseph Del Torto this Veterans Day in his hometown of Wappingers Falls NY I will be sure to mention the entire crew. |
Jinny 11/4/2007 11:12:46 PM | I learned this past year how Ernie died. His Mom always believed he must have hit his head when he jumped since the chute didn't open. Dutch people who witnessed the plane being hit say that the chute opened but caught fire when the plane blew up. I am glad his Mom never knew. It was a great tragedy. His father may have known but never told us. I will be thinking of him at our DAR meeting honoring Veterans. |
Ed Dana II 11/11/2007 1:36:54 PM | Nick, If you haven't already, there is someone in the Netherlands that you should get in contact with. He goes by the handle "Swinny" on the new 401st forum. He recently adopted the grave of Joseph Del Torto, so, if you weren't aware of him before, I'm obligated to introduce you to him. I'm also sending this as an email and will be contacting swinny as well. Ed. |
