Let me know what photo you speak of and will see if I am able to find that photo. As far as the infantry I my self don't have info on that, I'll pass that to my friend in England.

Paul bump this to you if you have anything on this.

Took me a bit to find the photo in the Blue Book you are speaking of. It doesn't look familiar with photos I have but will look at those I do have.

Sadly that particular photo is one of a number used in "the Blue Book" that the original print didn't get transferred to the NARA files in the late 1940s. 😞

Hello glenmay,

Although a long-shot to find a better copy of the 401BG BlueBook photo of U.S.Congressman Charles M La Follette's DP visit that you're looking for, try researching about him.

Suggest using a scan of the BlueBook photo and the approx. date of the visit, based on where in the BlueBook's sequence of time the photo appears (if no date given) to then:

1st, Google his name to find his home State, hometown and dates served (and while Googling, if lucky, there maybe an on-line biograpy that notes his 'DP visit'...and photo/source, but if not) then

2nd: Inquire at Congressman's home State's Archive or Library (by E-mail, with the photo & date) - if they don't have it, they may refer you to sources that may.

I've found Archives and Libraries often have electronic 'ask a librarian' feature, but even those which do not, to a one, are helpful in providing replies and useful information to help you.

Good hunting,
Win

i would like to thank paul , win and donald for their emails i have tried to email you all but my computers is playing up,thank you for your time and effort,my reasearch is regarding the army personell that wher redeployed to deenethorpe feb/march 1945 and left the base late july early aug 1945 these persons wer sent to fill a shortage at the base , it is documented in one of yours documents if think the 612th group .i am in the process of ordering films no90185,90184,90171and90170 to see if they contain morning reports for these periods it was a long shot to think the driver in photo no 032 was the person i was looking for, next idea would be to look for a researcher near to maxwell air base to do some research on site for me once again thank you all regards glenys
