The birds of a feather who flocked together scattered once again.
We reunited as a group, the group that’s always been,
The “best damn” group in the 8th Air Force,
And we all know we’re still the “damn best” of course!
We’re moving on but moving ahead, we get better as we go.
The young folks do a magnificent job, we need to tell them so.
They sprouted their wings by learning how it was done,
From the greatest leaders in the force, that’s why we’re number one!
Our web site is the best around it keeps us on the spot.
Our worthy historian continues gathering facts of who did what?
I’m sure our records are second to none, no one will be left out.
If you were there you’ll be remembered, of that there is no doubt!
We want to continue the 401st as a solo act as long as we are able.
If everyone will give their strong support that will keep us stable.
To preserve the legacy of our group as the “best” will be our goal.
Keep the faith, do your part, even though you’re getting old!
