6/10/2009 8:47:30 PM | I have granted Rick Kaufman admin status, as he is the Admin of the old site.
The main purpose in giving Rick admin status is to allow him access to the two hidden forums (for admins and moderators) for purposes of documenting the needs of the old forum. This is in line with my own goals of making either 401st site sustainable by volunteers. The more we document the methods and procedures of maintaining the site, the more others can do the same and the less dependent we are on any one person.
Once again, welcome Rick! 🙂 Glad to have you on board.

I must confess I am preoccupied with our upcoming trip to UK, (including Deenethorpe), so progress on the web site will be slow in coming. I have to come up to speed on ASP and other things...
I used to have a plaque in my room when I was in High School that said "The best way to get something done is to begin!". First steps have been taken.
I am working to establish goals and priorities for the site prior to making any notable changes. Understand that I realize the importance of the Forum(s). Active communication is the key to learning, and I fully understand the importance of honoring all those who served in the 401st. I remember how excited I was when the photo I provided of my Dad's first crew was posted on the 401st web site.
As decisions are made I will attempt to inform folks via the forum.

Just to remind:
- - The last post in this thread was June 2009, introducing Rick as our new Website Administrator; and
- - Since then, the Old Forum has been 'maintained' virtually 'crap-free'.
So thanks, Rick (and Ed and Don) for such great progress - And for your on-going efforts. They show great results for both what's there ...and what isn't.
