Elmer Browning, Turret gunner, of Elmer Gillespie's 615th crew has written an account of their missions from his diary. He named the book, as well as being the name of their aircraft, Elmer's Tune, after two Elmers in the crew and Glenn Millers popular song, Elmer's Tune. This is also to publicly thank Elmer Browning for recounting his memories of my father.

Hello Bill Gillespie,
My name is Elmer Eugene Browning, and I have talked to you a couple of times via phone.
Please contact me: E-Mail Address:
I still have the same phone number: 770-500-2668
Thank you for the nice words. We have bought a house in Douglasville, Ga.
Have finally settled in, and celebrated my 85th birthday in September.
Hope someday to get to Savannah to see the museum. Perhaps, in the spring.
Thanks again,
Elmer (Gene) Browning
Ball Turret Gunner
