12/4/2010 12:01:16 PM | Hey guys, Im back. No point in rehashing teh long version of what I have been through, so the VERy short version is: My Dad had some legal issues I was helping out with, then my Dad died with no "warning". One day he is there, the next day he's not. Then my Step Dad had a heart attack (he made it, but was scary anyways, obviously). So, as you can see I have been dealing with quite a lot here recently, that plus my Grandpa passing away back in January which you guys knew about. So, all of that said, Im back....

12/7/2010 8:28:20 AM | Also, I wanted to share with you guys some neat info.... While I was gone, a young lady sent me a PM, and she informed me that her Dad flew with my Grandpa, ATLEAST on July 4, 1944. She told me she had some "info" for me,but wanted to verify my email address before she sent it out. So, I verfied it (she orginally sent the message WAY back in July, and I just got it the other day, so hopefully she didn't think I was blowing her off/ignoring her) Anywas, not sure what info she has, but of course, i did have quite a few questions for her. Im not sure she would mind me disclosing whose daughter she is, but until I get "permission" I guess I don't want to ID her, out of respect for her. Again, not sure there is much harm in me saying who her father was on teh Mary Alice, but you know how it goes guys. So, I will wait to see and hear back from her, and see what she says. So, let's cross some fingers...

12/7/2010 3:05:57 PM | It is always good to have people contact someone and provide information that we can use. One could assume that if we know the pilot we would have some idea and ask some questions on the crew in general and that would not tell us anything. I lost my dad at 18 and 4 days before my 19th birthday so I have some idea of how rough things can be but we are glad to have you back with us. Did you see that our next reunion is in Colorado Springs, CO? You have friends here!!! Don

12/7/2010 5:00:52 PM | No Don, have not checked out next years' reunion yet, but thanks for heads up. My younger Brother and I were going this year, until the things happened. I do remember the last thing I was working on, was getting in touch with a mechanic I believe on teh Mary Alice...someone had posted up a pic, has a last name, Paul fopund a first name and city, I called info, actually spoke with this gentleman on teh phone, then sent him a letter, and was gonna call him back... That was were I left off, so gonna need to dig up that old thread, then go through my notes and see if I still have his phone number and see where we stand...just need some memory refreshing. Don...wow, can only imagine losing a Dad so young, I know that had to be rough.
