FORTRESS FLYING CLUB

5/25/2007 4:08:45 PM 		HI, does any one know whether the airmans bar would have been called the Fortress Flying Club?  I live 2 miles from the old base and found a really old sign with that written on, I wasnt sure if it was wartime or post war.

Oh how I would love to look for that buried fotress!!

7/9/2007 9:01:54 AM 		There has been a private airplane flying club at the former site of the base since I started going to the Bomb Group's mini-reunions in '89.  During some of the mini-reunions in England I attended, there were gatherings of airplanes on the old runways for the benefit of the veterans, but the club has not been active for years.
