I have the book "The American Airman in Europe" by Roger A. Freeman and will mail it to anyone in the 401st who would like to read it.  I enjoyed and would like to pass it on.
I would like to hear from anyone who flew with me on April 13, 1944, Schweinfurt, (Weber, Brock, Keller, Williams,Friedman, Mercurio), you guys thought I was dead.

Good to hear from you.  Look for the book soon and then pass it on to someone else.  I got it from Lou Cooper. Wanted to see you guys in Tuscon but my wife is not able to travel very much at this time.  I will look up the info on these men and get it to you. Thanks much,  Eldon

Mr. Child,  My uncle, Roy "Bud" Sanders, was part of the crew on the Schweinfurt mission, but he did not make it back.  I would so like to have information on that day for my mother, his sister.  I would enjoy hearing from any of the group.   Thanks to much, Janet Miller

Was wondering if you might know anything about the
aircraft, Dorsal Queen ?  I am replying for a friend
S/Sgt Howard Crull who says he was on Dorsal Queen when they were shot down. The records show them in
Command Performance. That was their regular aircraft
but was down for maintenance. Mr. Crull is our bugler
for our burial detail here in Portsmouth, Oh American
Legion post 23.

I am writing for S/Sgt Howard Crull who was the Ball
turret gunner on Lt. A.B. Vokaty's crew. He claims
that when they were shot down by fighter aircraft, your uncle Bud Sanders was on his aircraft. He also said that they were on the aircraft "Dorsal Queen".
Records show them on their regular plane called, Command Performance but it was down for maintenance.
Records show a W.M. Canter also killed on that flight.
The rest of the crew ended up P.O.W."s in Austria. When I see Mr.Crull again and get anymore info I will
post it on here.
