Fortresses over Deenethorpe. “The Story of the 401st Bombardment Group (H)”.
Authors Cliff T. Bishop (2015) and Malcolm Osborn
If you like Facts and Photos you will love this book. This book was just published by East Anglia Books located in Essex England. The book is consisted of the Groups activation to the end of WWII. Mr. Bishop passed away in 2015 and Malcolm Osborn made it his mission to complete the book in remembrance of his longtime friend Cliff.
Compiled by Month & Year which began on 1 April 1943 by General Order 46. Early History – Activation and Training which included cadre and early causalities. Overhead photos of the airfield and 8th Air Force 1st Air Division block chart. The monthly detailed missions and year follow:
Aircraft Serial Numbers plus info one each.
Aircraft Serial Chart plus Detailed info.
Aircraft Names, Serials and Nose Art.
Missing Air Crew Reports (MACR’S).
Color Photo Section.
I found the book largely factual and informative for myself and will be able to use it as a source for future research for many years to come.
