I was doing some research on family history and remembered this forum existed! I was just looking over my grandfathers mission list and it occurred to be that I should probably post here that he had passed away. We are so sad to say he passed away in July of 2015. He was at home with my parents (my mother had cancer at the time and he wanted to be with her). My grandmother passed away in November of 2014 and grandpa could not live alone any more. Anyhow, we are SO proud of the person he was, and his service to this country as a member of the great 401st! We miss him tremendously, and I thought I should post it here for history's sake, and so he could be remembered by those he was so proud to serve with.

Allen,

Thanks for posting to our forum about your grandfather. We are saddened as well for your loss. Might you have the obituary for him that you can send to me? We have a separate database which has those that we know of that have gone Aloft as well as those who are members of the Group.
