John H Pear went forever alot at 12:40 am 25 July 2012. He was 95 years old. My wife and I were at his side to say goodbye. John was a waist gunner on the Madame Queen with the crew of C.A. Kuta, 613th Squardon. John was 1 of 3 survivng crewmen. He will be missed. John went in the service in 1941. He served in the 123rd Observation Squadron before going to the 401st. He flew 27 missions over Germany and recieved the DFC, Air Medal and Bronze Star. He married in the early 1950's and had 5 children. John worked for Railway Express and retired in 1979.
