Does anyone have an idea of possible Army hospitals in GA that an airman from the 401st might have sent to at wars end (May 1945) We are working under the assumption that the airman was treated for illness from time as POW at end of the war. We are just trying to put a list together of places to attempt to begin looking for medical records.

Hi,

What info do you have presently about your Airman? The more info you can list, the better chances for a 'hit'. Do you have your Airman's: name, serial number, rank/rating, any training/schooling info, any Units he served in, was he wounded or a casualty? Whether contacting the 401st, or official or non-official sources, more info is (always) better.

As to (military) medical facilities in Georgia (in 1945), have you tried 'googling' Georgia State Offices (like Archives, State Museum or Adjutant General)? Most states have (differing) versions of these, with (differing) records kept, but even if they end-up not having what you're looking for, they may suggest other resources (to contact).

Good hunting
