Hello, I'm curious as to wether the 401st had a main "Nose art" painter and or jacket patch/art maker ?????
I ask this as the 91st Bomb Group had "Tony Starcer" as thiers and that I'm trying to find out who would have made leather unit patches for the group and it's squadrons during it's Stateside training days and shortly after going overseas??????

I'm an avid patch and nose art historian and photo collector of same and am especially seeking anyone who would know of who designed and painted the 612th "Mangler" Bear squadron emblem used/worn as patch and quonset hut wall art if known ???????

I'm seeking a good color rendering of this design and more preferably a color photo of an "actual" "Mangler" patch from that time period, please contact me if you can help, much thanks and even more to all the 401st veterans for what you did and went thorugh for our freedoms today !!!!!!!

P.S. anyone know the full name of a Sgt.Katz, I have seen a photo of him wearing a cloth flight jacket holding a camera and the "Mangler " emblem patch on the jacket. was he a unit photog, flight crew ????????

Hello Mr.Byers and thank you for your reply aboput Sgt.Katz, would you have any way of knowing if he's still with us ? Also in the photo I have of him he's wearing a 612th emblem, I guess he could have been in both Squadrons at various times ?????
Please e mail me directly with your answer as I don't always get a chance/time to check this site, thank you Very Much !!!!
