8/30/2009 7:28:20 PM | My Great Uncle, Carl Djernes, flew the Farmer's Daughter in the 401st from 1944 -1945. The serial number was 42-102468. I received his Distinguished Flying Crosses and some mission accounts after he passed, but I am always looking for more information. He rarely talked about his missions until later in his life. Please share any information or sources you may have regarding him or his crew.

8/31/2009 11:25:32 AM | The Farmers Daughter is one of the unknown serial numbers associated with a Nickname and this is good news. http://401bg.com/history/crew.asp?cid=13011 The only member of this crew found in the 2005 Directory is: John F. Canale 221 Fairlawn Dr. Eggertsville, NY 14226 (I have a phone Nr. also but won't post on net) remember this is 2005. Since it is not documented how is the Nickname and Serial Number associated. Did he have a diary of each mission and the plane flown. What about Nose Art or Picture of the Aircraft or A2 Jacket with Art on the Back? What other info do you seek? More questions than answeres right now. Don Byers
