We are just trying to put a list together of places to attempt to begin looking for medical records.

Do you have your Airman's: name, serial number, rank/rating, any training/schooling info, any Units he served in, was he wounded or a casualty? Whether contacting the 401st, or official or non-official sources, more info is (always) better. As to (military) medical facilities in Georgia (in 1945), have you tried 'googling' Georgia State Offices (like Archives, State Museum or Adjutant General)? Most states have (differing) versions of these, with (differing) records kept, but even if they end-up not having what you're looking for, they may suggest other resources (to contact).
