I found this incredible website while researching some details on my grandpa's history. His name is Eugene Hall. He was a B-17 turret gunner who survived 35 missions on various planes: Baby Lu (Grin n Bare it), Fancy Nancy, Hells Angels, and a few others. The majority of his missions were on the Grin n Bare it. I recently found out that the plane also went by another name, Baby Lu! Since I was able to see the nose art from the Baby Lu, I'm going to add guns (revolvers) to her side. I am getting heavily addicted to researching his history. He is still alive and well, and really loved the tattoo and wanted to share it with some of his buddies. Maybe some are on here?
The tattoo is a compilation of girls I found on the back of the bomber jackets from the crew. There are 35 bombs for his missions, and the Hap Arnold has been stylized to include sparrows, instead of the golden wings in the original Hap. I'm also a SSgt in the Air Force Reserves.

I also know Capt J.A. Roadman the pilot but I know he had declining health and he didn't remember me at the last reunion he attended.

7/30/2009 10:05:35 PM | Thank you for your reply. Glad you like it! I'll report Capt Roadman's health to my grandpa. I'm not sure when they last met was, but at least one meeting was documented in my grandpa's book in the 90's.

Reason i say that is, I too am getting a tattoo in honor of my Grandpa, who was a Top Turret on teh Mary Alice. I am getting his plane, and his portrait done hopeuflly in teh next few weeks...
