Good job on new forum look.

Unfortunately, I've got some bugs to report.

After posting a private message to Paul Bellamy (which I'm still not sure was sent) I get this message:
ucp.php?i=pm&mode=view&p=200

And after posting a forum message to Swinny, I get this:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=303&p=656&sid=0cbcd65825f0d8c37990078fe621e7f5#p656

In either case, I get a page that says "server not found" so I'm assuming that it should be the 401st URL there at the begining, not this "dopeydog.local" link I see.

Only a minor bug to report:
I have to keep logging in every visit. I've cleared my cache a few times to see if that helps, but no joy.
I'll keep an eye on it and report back at the end of the week.

Ed: The PM came through fine. ta.

Paul,

I am having the same problem. It has taken me most of the day just to log in and you are right none we seem to have to re-log in each time . The feature to save our user name and password does not seem to be holding. Hopefully this can be worked out soon.

Following up: The DopeyDog problem appears to be resolved. Good job, Kele. 🙂

However, yesterday I saved information on my profile, only to find today that it had not been saved. I did it again, and it looks like it saved, but I'll check tomorrow to make sure.

Saving information on my profile seems to be working fine, so that appears to be a false alarm.

However, I noticed in my profile, under the "board preferences/edit post defaults" that, while my "Notify me upon replies by default" option is set to true, I have not received any notifications of any replies to my posts. Given the volume of traffic on this forum, I think this is a critical feature. It's possible that a person requesting information may have to wait days, months, or (Heaven forbid) years before someone supplies them with the information they seek. For this reason, I think this functionality is critical to have. An email would remind the user of their topic and help them find it again, especially if a long time has passed since they posted it.

Two cents.

Don't know what the problem with the Auto-Login is as it never worked on the old site either I think it is the software. If you look on the phpBB forum there is a little talk about this.

Also have noticed the problem with postings not being sent back when someone replies to a posting.

Hi Don,

Auto-Login almost always worked fine for me pre-update.
However, the notification for replies only worked for me on two occasions, and that was for random posts not ones it should have worked on.
Ah, the mysterious wonders of php. 😉

PS, can we have our smilies back please? 🙂

All the best,
Paul

The "DopeyDog" link has reared it's ugly head again. 😉 There is one hiding on the "PDF Versions of the PFG" on the http://401bg.com/ main page.

The login feature is going crazy at the minute..

It's asking me to log-in, then going back to the log-in page.
Or asking me to log-in, then going back to the log-in page, while still showing me as already logged in.
Or asking me to log-in, then going back to the log-in page, while still showing me as last logged-in 2-3 hours previously and still here after throwing me out.
Or, simply ignoring me completely.
Or, and most annoyingly, logging me out mid-post.

All the best

Paul,

I had the same problems today as well as another one. I was also unable to access the regular administration page as well.

I've just noticed the Private Messages function seems to have disappeared, unless I'm being a bit thick tonight.

I was looking for a bit of info in one of my received messages, and there it was, gone.
I'm pretty sure the PM's function was still there after the recent upgrade, so it must have vanished very recently.

All the best,
Paul

Ta Dale,

That helps me know I'm not just imagining they've gone.
I know they were still here after the upgrade, as Ed mentioned them in the first post in this thread, so hopefully they'll appear again sometime like the smilies did,
