6/14/2010 8:40:03 PM | As some of you know I am sorting and placing together my fathers medals, badges etc. I had forgotten till today that I had found 2 sets of dog tags for my dad.
I have a strong feeling that the oldest ones are his from WW II. They are a much, much older and has a very different broken chain that has a religious medal attached. This set of dog tags differs from the other set in they have different sets of numbers and letters that I cannot explain. Can anyone tell me what the letters and numbers on the WW II set mean?
I also have a much larger different badge that hangs on a chain of some kind that I have not photographed yet so I will need help identifying that as well. It appears to have something written (possibly in Latin) in the center of it.
Time to get some much needed sleep...

6/14/2010 9:43:11 PM | With out seeing anything one would guess the numbers are his service number do you have those numbers from his discharge papers that match them or not? Pictures are also a 1000 words.

One other thing I found was that WWII Dog Tags were notched like the older one you speak of.
