9/20/2006 7:11:03 PM | The only "boneyard" of military planes that exists today is next to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, AZ and consists of Vietnam era and later aircraft for the most part. The company that runs it is AMARC. There is also a Pima Air Museum nearby with a pretty good collection of older planes in a variety of conditions. There are some small "boneyards" around, but Davis-Monthan is the official one.

9/22/2006 7:57:00 AM | Donna, while Kingman is no longer an official USAF boneyard, the local community has been trying to establish a museum on the old site to commemorate the field's role in WWII, especially as a boneyard in the post-war era. While there are no remaining aircraft, I understand they have collected photographic evidence of many of the aircraft stored there after the war. I haven't looked recently, but I believe you might find a contact number on the Web.
