b-17 nick-name SAC HOUND

Hello everybody, happy new year to all of you.

For 12 years, I'm making research about this b-17 of the 401BG 613SQ.and named Sac hound. I'm in relation with the crew commander and I have a lot of informations.For the 50th anniversary of the crash, I organised a ceremony in honor of the 3 kia crew members; We build with a freind a small memorial (pictures may be send by e-mail).
The only problem I have is: Impossible to find pictures of the crew or of the plane. I ask than a big help on this forum. Thank you very much and if a member of sac hound crew read this message, i send him a big " Hello"
All the information about the plane and the crew are already on this web site (mission of 02 march 1944 on Frankfurt)

You don't have to apoligise for any thing. When asking info that is clear to read and understand. I will look and see if there is another way to get a picture. No promises.

I am new to this sight. I am the son of Seymour Falk, a waist gunner on the Sac Hound who, because of injuries suffered when the plane was hit, was turned over to the Germans for medical treatment and then spent the rest of the war as a POW. I would also greatly appreciate any information/picture that are available, as well. I very much appreciate the effort put in by Mr. Dardenne and would love to attend the anniversary ceremony.

There is a negative in the National Archives of Sac Hound #65606AC. Look on page 3 of the forum under "Getting pictures ...... from the National Archives". Don Byers' comment has the e-mail for the Archives. I recently checked it out and got a positive response. It does take a little while, and you have to get a company that has pull rights to the negatives to make you a photo from it. They will send you all you need.

SAC Hound serial# 42-31467 is listed with the 613th Bomber Squadron of the 401st Bomb Group. B-17 nose art indicates no picture at the National Archives.

I am the son of Douglas Conway, who's still living, who was the bombardier on the SAC Hound and evaded capture for 5 months. We understand from my father that the crew had an accident in Kearney, NE before deploying that took them out of their group while investigation of acident occurred. This landed them as a very junior group in Deenethorpe and at the tail end of the mission lineups. This made for the most vulnerability as the target was rounded and led to their being picked off.

My name is James Rickey. I am the son of Richard Rickey, the top turret gunner/engineer on Sac Hound when it was shot down over Belgium on March 2, 1944. He was with your father and Wm Sheahan during the time they evaded capture with help from the locals. My father is still living and would appreciate any pictures or memories of his crew's time at Deenthorpe UK. Jean Dardenne from Belgium has been quite helpful in sending pictures and information about their time in Belgium.

I'd love to see any photos...somebody did send me some but they were photocopies and have not survived!
Can anyone help?
