The B-17 was "Cover Girl" and it was Silverstein's crew's 20th mission.  The Missing Air Crew Report was #9756 and you can get a copy from the Air Force History Support Office, HQ USAF/HO, Reference and Analysis Division, 500 Duncan Avenue Box 94, Bolling AFB, Wash D.C. 20332-111.  I can send you a list of crew members, missions, airplanes flown, and info on the different planes if you e-mail me at smacafbu@yahoo.com.

Many thanks for the information.  I really appreciate it (it's for my mother).  If she is interested in the other information you mentioned, I will e-mail you again.  You've been a tremendous help.

I am looking for information on the crew of this aircraft (B-17G) that went down over Politz, near Stettin, Poland (formerly Germany).  Specifically, I am looking for Second Lt. John A. Farquhar and/or information on Second Lt. Harry P. Silverstein.
Thank you.

Amy:

I would be interested to know if you have contacted Mr. Farguhar (since the October "Forum" postings), and if so, was he able to be helpful about your family interest and the 10-7-44 Politz Mission. [I'm close-by in San Francisco and would like to contact him about Politz, but only if he's interested in these sorts of contacts].

By the way, I have a copy of the 10-7-44 Politz Mission Report as part of my research about my uncle's 401BG service, S.Sgt. Tom Dorris, Radioman lost that day with the Nelson Crew.  If there's anything about the mission you're interested in, please let me know - I'll see "what's there" (that you may want a copy of).
