Deenthorpe archeology

A small group of intrepid investigators, myself, Graham Bratley and David Marsden are about to investigate a site on the Deenthorpe field which we know was used as a dump during the 401st's residence there during the war.
This site is located to the north of the west side hanger about fifty yards from the perimitor track.
We would gladly welcome any informaton from anyone who knew about, dumped anything or saw the site during its use.
Any artifacts, be they of a personel or military sigificance will be held in safe keeping for the sole benifit of the 401st. We hope that someone somewhere can help, any information no matter how trivial will be welcome

Mr. Wall,
My great uncle was a tail gunner on a B-17 in the 401st bomb group. His plane went down on Dec. 31st 1943. His body was never found. My son and I have been doing some research on his military history. My husband and I hope to visit England this fall and I was wondering if the old airfield at Deenethorpe is near a train or bus route through the village. We will be useing public transportation and hope that the field is close by so that we will be able to walk to the field. I find it very interesting that you hope to investigate the old dump site at the airfield. Thank you for any info you might give us on the exact location of the field. I am looking for any info concerning my father who flew with the 401st. He was part of a crew that flew Omar the Dentmaker before it was shotdown. He made many flights on her. He was the waist gunner.
His name was Sgt. Charles W. Marsh. If you have any info, please contact me.

I realise this was nine years ago but was this investigation under proper archaeological procedures? I am interested as I am an archaeologist and tried for years to carry out field survey and I had connections with the landed gentry who own the land and lived in the village all my life until recently but was still denied access.
