401st Flying Control log for 6/12/44 indicates mission for that day scrubbed at 1405. Then at 1544 they report information recieved from Lt. McAlexander that fragmentation bombs exploded on dispersal #2 . Crash crew, ambulances, and guards have been dispatched. Col. Bowman, Operations, Chaplains, Ordnance and spare crash equipment notified. At 1625 ist Air division given all details of accident. 14 men are involved - 4 known dead, others in serious condition.
No other details furnished as to aircraft involved.
