Hi, My name is Andrew Thomas and I live in Thrapston which is about 8 miles to the south of Deenethorpe. If there is anybody out there who is planning a trip to Deenethorpe, please drop me a line and I will be glad to help with accomodation, transport etc. I also fly an ultralight from Deenethorpe and would be glad to fly you over the airfield, English weather permitting.

Thanks for you kind offer as we do have people that visit there sometimes.  In fact they had a mini reunion in 2005 in England.

Hello Andrew,

I am making a visit to Great Britain August 8-12.  My grandfather, Omer Richardson, was a tail gunner on Boche Buster, a B-17 shot down in a mission to Politz,Germany on October 7, 1944.  He was stationed at Deenethorpe from July-October 1944 and flew 17 missions over Germany, France and Holland during that time.

What would be the best way to visit Deenethorpe? I will be travelling with a friend, but hope to get there. Is it accessible by train?  I will have a train pass, but any insight you could give me about the area, I would very much appreciate!  Thank you!

Regards,

Michael Tieri
