In May 2005 I was attending an air show at Santa Rosa California The Arizona Wing was there with the "Sentimental Journey"When I arrived I noticed they were giving a grand tour of the aircraft a B-17G to this elderly gentelman and I noticed he was wearing a worn but still in good shape A-2 flight jacket.I introduced myself to him and he told me he flew 17 missions with the 401st in a B-17 named "Satans Chillen" I asked if I could take a couple of pictures and he obliged I have the pictures and will share. one is a front veiw showing him in his flight jacket with his wings on left and the name "Bill"on the left. The second photo shows a backview complete with"Satans Chillen" and the nose art of a young lasy posing in what appears to be a hula skirt Bill lives at a retirement in Santa Rosa CA.If anybody has other info on this aircraft Seriai#43-37706 Pleas share with me.I am not a veteran, this is my hobby and all these guys and gals are my heroes.Thank You!
