Today is the anniversary of the second Schweinfurt mission.  As Lt. Vokaty's crew climbed into Command Performance 2, they didn't know that 8 of them would spend the rest of the war as POW's, and the crew would suffer their first two fatalities.  These men, and the many others who helped finally win the war sure stepped up when they were needed, and I am glad that there are sites like this one so their efforts and sacrifices will not go forgotten.
Thank you.

As the groups Historian I often find my ideas for PFG articles in our fourm messages. In this case my next PFG article will be about sacrifice, sacrifices made and not made. As for Bill's message, there was plenty of sacrifice to go around on the April 13th, 1944 Mission.
