Byrne, Howard E. - 2nd Lt

¶ Site has Byrne identified as 1st Lt.2015/04/02 01:00 by Administrator

But Loretta Schumacher identifies him as a 2nd Lt. Are our records correct?

The quick answer is nope our site is wrong. I check his last two missions and he is listed as a 2nd Lt. will update site.

I have seen both ranks. I also recently found some information about his being at Travis Air Force base as a T/Sgt. after the war.

Well, I don't know what the rule is, but I would expect that the rank we list on our site was the highest rank achieved while they were in with the 401st. Don, on the other hand, is the one who sets the rule, so... all he has to do is answer. :)
