Query on 401st member

                                    <td style='vertical-align: top;'>There is a lot of confusion about the 401st. Actually, there was our 401st Bomb Group. There was also a 401st Bomb Squadron, which was part of the 91st Bomb Group at Kimbolton/Bassingbourne. They were one of the early groups, and holds the record for the highest losses-197 MIA aircraft. They had highest number of enemy aircraft destroyed-420. Rough days for those pioneers. The book &quot;The Mighty Eigth&quot; by Roger Freeman has many entries about the 91st BG  and you may be able to trace Wilde through them.
