I talked to him this morning and was very pleased that he remembered my father. He in turn was pleased to know that I have a copy of all the notes that he and my dad wrote (from 60 years ago)about their memories and feelings of the crew and all that happened the day they were shot down and became POW's. Because the papers are old and becoming fragile. I am re-typing all their memories they shared together - as they wrote them.I will be sending him a copy as soon as I am finished.

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

Sincerely,

Jackie (Sharp) Sheflin
|- | '''Kenny Novicki'''
12/1/2008 5:29:24 PM | Sad news.........Werner had just passed away from cancer Thanksgiving day 2008.
I remain in good contact with his daughter Gretchen of West Haven & Hamden.
|}
