12/31/2004 8:50:25 AM | My crew was assigned at a staging post located at Tampa, Florida, and the assignment at that time was in alphabetical order for enlisted crew positions. As I was already a Captain when my crew joined me, I was placed at the head of the list for crew assigments. For that reason, I was assgned the beginning of the alphabet: Antil, Allison, Affel, Backlin, etc. Not very scientific, but that was the Army way of doing things. I frankly don't remember how my officer crewmates were selected.
