I know that he was stationed at Deenethorpe during WWII as either a Lt. Colonel or Colonel, and that he received an OBE (Order of the British Empire) for his actions following the B-17 crash. If anyone knew him or can provide information about what he did while stationed there, I would be deeply indebted. I am also interested in knowing more about the crash.

Thankyou
|- | '''l.a.mitchell'''
4/21/2004 6:41:16 PM | Lt.Col. Clayton Scott was Ground Executive Officer of 401st BombGroup. On Dec.5,1943, a B-17 piloted by Water keith crshed into the village of Deenethorpe, ad all of crew got out safely. Lt. Col. Scott was in charge of the emergency and saw that food and bedding was distributed to about 100 villagers.Ben Musser, Radio Operator,a member of our Association, 6910 Paseo San Andres Tucson,AZ 85710, is only surviving member of that crew.
|- | '''Will Scott'''
5/2/2004 10:17:02 AM | Thank you.
