The takeoff plan is on the mission page, but I can't find a copy of the actual flight plan/route anywhere.

Thanks!

Bob Carson
|- | '''Win Bryson'''
12/1/2003 6:03:01 PM | 1. I don't have a copy of what you're looking for, but the original 401BG Mission Reports are on file at the National Archives II, College Park, Md. Contacting them can be either through their website www.archives.gov (and sending a inquiry E-mail); or by writing to:

Textual Reference Branch
National Archives
8601 Adelphi Rd.
College park, Md. 20740.

In either case, be sure to include the details of what you want.

2. By "flight plan" be sure to tell them what you want. (I've seen, in one or more 401BG Mission Reports, several things that could be 'flight plans': a) Copies of the teletype orders to the 401BG detailing the mission; b) The track charts with planned and actual navigational tracks, and c) The post-mission report, with narratives and tabulated data of the mission.)

3. If what you want is more than a few pages, they'll send you a form indicating the photocopy quantity and costs (usually nominal), and require pre-payment before they make and send the copies to you.

4. If you're traveling to the Wash. D.C. area, you can also visit and make your own copies right there. (The NARA II is located north of the Beltway).

5. The AFHRA, Maxwell AFB, Ala. has microfilm records of these 401BG Mission Reports, but they have a staff shortage (requests take a long time for a reply), and the microfilm quality is not great for making photocopies from).

Good luck.

Win

|- | '''Bob Carson'''
12/1/2003 6:59:50 PM | Thank you!
|}
