Comments |- | '''Donald Byers''' <br/>9/3/2002 1:41:57 PM | Robert Lawson<br/> <br/> Robert S. Lawson, 77, of Fairfield Glade, Tenn., formerly of Naples, Fla., and Plymouth, passed away March 28, 2000 after a brief illness. He was born in Redford, Nov. 24, 1922 the son of Roy and Edna (Stevens) Lawson. <br/> <br/> As a 1st Lt. he was a member of the 401st Bomb Group, Eighth Air Force, and served as a B-17 bomber pilot flying 35 missions in the European theater of operations during WWII. He was awarded the Air Medal with 5 oak leaf clusters, and the Distinguished Flying Cross. <br/> <br/> He was a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Business Administration, and the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University. He was a member of the Chi Phi Fraternity and the Michigan Bar Association. Following his graduation from Detroit College of Law he was appointed as a Special Agent in the Federal Bureau of Investigation and served two years in Beaver, Penn., and Detroit. He worked as an attorney for Ford Motor Company in real estate property management until his retirement.<br/> <br/> He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet Osgood Lawson of Fairfield Glade, Tenn., and Corea, Me.; one daughter, Lisbeth (Dr. Alan) Rosenfield of Laconia, N.H.; two sons James (Anne) Lawson of Dexter and Peter (Lynn) Lawson of Northville; eight grandchildren; one sister Nina Jean (Robert) Marshall of Pensacola, Fla.; several nieces and nephews, extended family and many special friends. <br/> <br/> <br/> |}
