Coughlin, 76, of 225 Conrad Drive, Rochester, N.Y., formerly of Pittsfield, died Saturday at a Rochester hospital.<br/> <br/> Born in Pittsfield on May 30, 1923, son of Joseph B. and Kathleen Cullen Coughlin, he graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1941. He also graduated from Otterbein College of Ohio and Boston University.<br/> <br/> He served in the Army during World War II in the 8th Air Force Division, with the 613th Squadron of the 401st Bomber Group. He served in England and received a Purple Heart. After his military service, he moved to Rochester.<br/> <br/> Mr. Coughlin was employed as chief psychiatric social worker of Rochester Mental Health. He retired after 30 years of service.<br/> <br/> He was a communicant of St. Charles' Church in Rochester, and was a member of the Rochester American Legion. He was a Boy Scout leader for many years.<br/> <br/> He leaves his wife, the former Elizabeth Mills, whom he married in June 1948; three sons, Kevin Coughlin, Michael Coughlin and Brian Coughlin, all of Rochester; a brother, George P.
