My father, Charles Minor (navigator,612th Squadron, crew of Ralph Hayes)has given me the task of locating a war buddy of his, and I thought I would turn to the Forum to see if anyone out there knows of this man's whereabouts. His name is William M. Folts and here is what I know of him: he hailed from Glasgow, KY, he was a navigator, he liked to gamble and was always out of money, he married a woman named Pearlie, and he'd be about 79 years young today. My father tells me this story about Mr. Folts, an example of one man's integrity, in my humble opinion: at the end of the war, Mr. Folts was broke and borrowed $20 from my father, who thought nothing of it at the time and was happy to lend the money. Exactly one year later an envelope postmarked Glasgow, KY was sent to my father; inside was a $20 bill, repayment of the forgotten debt. Now, my father would like to find Mr. Folts and reestablish communication w/him. So....if anyone out there knows Mr. Folts, and/or knows how to contact him, please email me at starswingin@yahoo.com and I will pass the info along to my father. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
