| My grandfather was a pilot in the 401st during WWII.  He trained in Tampa Bay, Florida, and was based in Deethorpe.  His plane was either the &quot;Lady Luck,&quot; the, &quot;Lady Luck II,&quot; or the, &quot;Lady Luck III.&quot;  He once had to ditch in the English Channel after a raid over Germany, and he was shot down over France once.  He passed away of a heart attack over thirty years ago, and I never had the chance to meet him, but I am sure some of his former squadron members may remember him.  I am not sure which squadron he was<br/> in. <br/> If anyone remembers Irving, or anyone knows who to contact to find<br/> records, pictures, or possibly stories about him, I would appreciated if<br/> they could write me back, or forward this message to the proper contacts.  <br/>     <br/> I thank the association in advance for sharing memories of my grandfather,<br/> <br/>

|   Seth,I did not know your grandfather,being in another squadron. He flew as co-pilot on the<br/> D.M. schliemann crew. I can send you a list of the crew members and all missins flown.You're right about &quot;Lady Luck&quot;.They flew it many times ,and also other airctaft on other missions.Send  me your u.s. mail address and i'' forward this list.<br/> WE have a 401st Association now. Only one of his crew members is a member of our Assn. He is Bruce Zabel  .<br/> Bruce was the Engineer/Top Turrett gunner and stood in the cockpit right behind the two pilots. | My father flew 8 mission on the Lady Luck. He was the Flight Engineer and top turret gunner. His name was Ora Kay Bailey, and Lived in Indiana. My Father unfortuantley lost most of his war memorabily to a house fire. I would be greatly appreicated to get a picture of the Lady Luck and have a flight jacket made. Dad passed away in January of 2001. God bless the brave airmen, and all service men and women.<br/> Thad L. Bailey<br/>
