We (family) did not really know the details of his war time service and subsequent internment at StalagLuft 1 in Barth. I called John yesterday when I found the info about his aircraft while visiting a musuem with my 8 year old son yesterday. He remembers your father (the info I had stated Sam EVADED,along with CPL Morrissey, but John told me he was "in the camp also". John also told me about an incident at Deenethorpe where the gunner (SOKOL??) accidentally had a runaway with his guns and hit a tool shed. I am now gathering as much info as possible to make a mini-scrapbook of his tour/experiance. I have just found this wonderful site and the one at wwwarmyairforce.com. Hope this address is still valid. Sean McDonald,BMC,USCG<br></td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table>
