| This aircraft (Fearless Fosdick) caught fire in the air shortly after take-off 9/11/1944.  The crew bailed out near Leicester.  The pilot, <b>Lt M.M. Mohler</b>, sustained a broken leg.  Not sure at this time if he was able to return to duty at this time but no other missions are shown after his accident. <br/><br/>Sgt. Donald C. Byers, 613th Bomb Squadron, Togglier, 42-97344 Carrie B II, KIA 08/24/1944.<br/>

| Hi Thank you again for your answers.I hope your well.<br/>    I was just wondering about the information about Fearless Fosdick damage.The report on this<br/> great site says .<br/>      " A third aircraft, "Fearless Fosdick" (No. 102957), piloted by Lt. Morris M. Mohler, which had also received major battle damage, made it back to Deenethorpe but, before it could be landed, an engine caught fire and could not be extinguished. All crew members parachuted out safely in the Corby and Peterborough area, and the ship crashed near Leicester."<br/> <br/>      The report above says battle damage when you say  "This aircraft (Fearless Fosdick) caught fire in the air shortly after take-off 9/11/1944."
