Or, have they all been demolished and scrapped out? Now, I know that there are SOME B-17's out there, like of course Mary Alice (the copy in the IWM), but was more interested in those that saw action. So, anyone know if there are any still out there???

Derrick Morris, Grandson of S/Sgt Engr/Top Turret William "Dale" Sartor, 615th BS 401st BG, "Mary Alice"
|- | '''donaldbyers'''

2/21/2011 2:04:54 AM | This will give you and Idea, [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_surviving_B-17_Flying_Fortresses].

Don

Sgt. You take that into account, and numbers drop drastically. Havent finished the whole list yet, but so far, have come across 2 aircraft that saw duty in WWII that are still here with us (im not done actually READING the whole link..browsedwhole thing, yes, read whole thing, no. And is what I am doing now)

Im about halfway through the "Mission 376" book on getting that refresher for you. I know you said no hurry on it, but, would like to get the review to you here rather quickly, taht way if youhave any questions, or need more info, I can provide it.

Derrick Morris, Grandson of S/Sgt Engr/Top Turret William "Dale" Sartor, 615th BS 401st BG, "Mary Alice"
|- | '''donaldbyers'''

2/25/2011 9:23:21 AM | I though it was a good one for you.

Don

Sgt.
