| Since discovering your web site a few weeks ago, I have tried to jog the memories of my dad, John O. York, about his experiences in WWII.  He found his copy of "The Blue Book" - "A Pictorial Record of the 401st Bomb Group" and on the inside face page, in his own hand writing, he had listed the members of his crew.  His list is almost the same as the listing on this web site with one exception:  he had as the Co-Pilot Lt. William M. Madley  (Instead of the E.R.Potter listed in this web site.)<br/> <br/> If anybody is interested, he also had written full first names - not just initials - of the others. | Just wanted to explain a little bout the database.  The database is static which means we can only show a snapshot at one point in time. | I understand the difficulty of trying to piece all of this together 60+ years after the fact.  Regarding the co-pilot of the John E. Lindsey crew, I noticed that F.R. Potter is also listed as co-pilot of the W.K White crew - inlcuding on mission 223 on 7 March 1945.  Obviously F.R. Potter could not have been on both planes at the same time.<br/> <br/> Based on my dad's handwritten notes it would seem safe to conclude that William M. | I looked again through the "Blue Book" of the 401st and noticed the picture in the upper right hand corner of the very last page - my dad is the one hunched down in the front row on the far right of the picture!!  My dad is now 88 but still sharp enough to confirm that this is indeed a picture of him with the John E. Lindsey crew.<br/> In his own handwriting inside the front cover he had hand-written (in 1946 or 1947) the names of his crew:<br/> "...My Crew...<br/> Lt. John E. Lindsey - Pilot<br/> Lt. William M. Madley - Co-Pilot<br/> F/O James A. Brummett - Navigator<br/> Sgt. Carl F. Warner - Engineer<br/> Sgt. Sam Ippolito - Radio Man<br/> Sgt. Willaim F. Green - Nose Gunner<br/> Sgt. William Sanders - Ball Turret<br/> Sgt. Ellis A Portier - Tail Gunner<br/> Sgt. John O.
