| Hi Fred,<br/> <br/> I've looked at the 401st mission lists for September to December 1944, and there are no listed losses over France on missions to Germany during that period.<br/> Ther are a number of forced landings in Belgium in the list though, two of which were on a Wednesday:<br/> <br/> Weds 13 September 1944.<br/> Mission: Meresburg. Synthetic oil plant.<br/> Aircraft: Possibly 42-97869 IY-A "Hula Girl"<br/> Pilot: Lt J Kovach.<br/> Forced landing at an Allied airfield in Belgium, crew returned to Deenethorpe.<br/> <br/> Thursday 28 September 1944.<br/> Mission: 150. Magdeburg. Aero Engine Factory.<br/> Aircraft: 42-31863 "Miss B Havin"<br/> Pilot: Lt Charles W Utter.<br/> Forced landing on Allied fighter airfield, near Ghent, Belgium.<br/> Crew returned to Deenethorpe 2 days later.<br/> <br/> Wednesday 8 November 1944.<br/> Mission: 168. Meresburg. Synthetic oil refinery.<br/> Aircraft: 43-37736 "Little Pedro"<br/> Pilot: Lt Richard Steen.<br/> Forced landing in Belgium on RAF Fighter Advanced Landing Ground near Brussels.<br/> Crew returned to Deenethorpe.<br/> <br/> Tuesday 21 November 1944.<br/> Mission: 177.
