Wondering what a replacement pilot would find himself doing between the time he stepped off the ship (where?) to the time he flew his first mission. I know there was some form of "ETO indoctrination"... can someone give me a rough outline/timeline of the journey from transport vessel to airfield, maybe in early '44??
I have not found detailed information in any of the (many) books I've read. Does anyone know of a publication with this info?
