He was a Power Turret and Gunsight Mechanic with the 612th Bomb Squadron. His separation papers at the end of the war list seven European campaigns (Air Offensive Europe, Normandy, Northern France, Southern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe), the Good Conduct Medal, the Distinguished Unit Badge and the AAF Air Crew Member Badge (wings).
