How to Edit a Member Page

Editing a page in ScrewTurn Wiki is easy and requires only a few steps. Here's how to do it:

Prerequisites

First, you must have an account. You cannot edit a page without having registered that account. You can register a new one or log in with your existing one here. Please note that access is not granted automatically—we expect to know something about you before we allow anyone in.

Step 1: Navigate to the Page

Use the search box and enter the serviceman’s name, or go to the Serviceman's Page and click the tab with the first letter of the last name. Then search under the appropriate squadron to find the correct entry.

Step 2: Click the "Edit" Tab

Once on the page, click the **Edit** tab at the top.

If you're not logged in, you'll be prompted to log in before proceeding.

Step 3: Make Your Changes

Note: Each serviceman’s page is divided into sections: - **Service During the War** - _Recorded Missions_ Contains the tag: {s:MemberMissionList} **Do not edit or remove this tag.** - _Personal Accounts_ Add any stories or anecdotes about the serviceman's wartime experience here. - **Life Before the War** - **Life After the War**

Editing Sections

You can edit the page in two ways:
  1. Click the **Edit** button at the top-right of the page to edit all sections at once.
  2. Click the **Edit** link next to a section heading to edit that section only.

Uploading a Portrait

Each serviceman’s page can include a portrait. If no portrait has been uploaded, you'll see a placeholder silhouette in pastel blue.

To upload a portrait:
  1. Convert the photo to a `.jpg` file, if it isn’t already.
  2. Rename the file to **WikiPortrait.jpg** (this name is required).
  3. Use the **Choose File** button to select the photo.
  4. Click **Upload** to attach the file to the page.
  5. After saving and refreshing the page, the portrait should appear automatically—assuming it’s named correctly.

Adding an Album (Optional)

You can add additional photos in an album. Instructions for this feature will be added later.

Adding a YouTube Video (Optional)

You can embed YouTube videos on the page. Instructions for doing so will be added later.

Step 4: Preview Your Changes (Optional)

Click the **Preview** button to see how your edits will appear before saving.

Step 5: Save the Page

Enter a brief **summary** of your changes (optional but helpful), then click **Save** to publish the page.

Notes

- If you make a mistake, don’t worry—you can always revert to an earlier version of the page using the **History** tab. - Some pages may be protected and require special permissions to edit.
