Summary: The 401st furnished the Low Box of the 94th Combat Wing. Because of a weather front going up to 26,000 feet, most of the Eighth Air Force was unable to find targets. However, the 36 aircraft of the 94th Combat Wing were able to do so, dropping down to 17,000 feet for the bomb run. Capt. Kuenning, the lead bombardier, was able to score a bull's eye; the strike photos showed that the Group had hit the hangar and administration area of the airport. No enemy aircraft or flak were encountered.
