Summary: Because of heavy cloud cover, the Group was unable to bomb the primary target, located in France. The 401st aircraft were part of a force of 73 heavy bombers that were able to find a visual target at Villacoublay Airdrome and place 192 tons of bombs on target, a center for maintenance and repair of Luftwaffe aircraft. At the target the flak was moderate to intense and very accurate; however, the 401st did not suffer any losses. No enemy aircraft were sighted.
