Notes: At 0954 hours one aircraft landed, requesting an ambulance. After dropping the bombardier, who entered the ambulance, the aircraft swung slightly on taxiing, hitting the ambulance. This cause slight damage to both the ambulance and the aircraft.

Summary: The 401st flew in the Low Box position of the 94th Combat Wing. Flak was moderate over Augsburg and meager on the route home. During the gap of one hour in fighter protection, enemy Me-109's attacked individually but not very agressively. 401st gunners claimed one enemy aircraft downed.
